I did find the exact same problem on the Microsoft XP discussion site, but no fixes mentioned there at all (http://communities2.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default). Hence, I formatted my hard drive and reinstalled XP. No problems since then. Sorry. Peter
