This morning I was connected to 2 very fine Microsoft assistants. Finally, the gentleman
went thru all of the possible reasons XP would not be effective trying to install
this program over Windows 98 on my HP Pavillion. There was a print-out that listed
many many reasons and my question is why didn't the sales person ask me to do this
test before I went thru the purchase and now have to return for a credit? Why have
disappointed customers who dream of this conversion only to be told that I need a
new computer!!!
I am returning the disks and want a full refund and should even ask for more for
all of the aggrevation this has caused. Many hours wasted. In time I will purchase
another computer in which your XP is included. However, now this 86 year old will
hang in with Windows 98 even though I am told I can no longer get any help on that
program as of February it will be considered obsolete. How about me -- Am I obsolete
as well? I have faith in Microsoft but is that an illusion? You never know how
long XP will be OK - right? I need all the days I can get and this is one that is
wasted - including mailing the disks back and perhaps waiting for a refund. Yeuk!
