B: is a valid drive letter assignment for a floppy disk drive.
In the very early days of PCs, most did not have hard disk drive storage due to the
extreme expense involved. Instead, some used tapes (literally--you would hook up
an audio cassette recorder to the computer and that would be "mass storage), while
others (notably the original IBM PC and of course others) would use two 5-¼" floppy
drives. Typically, one floppy would be used to load the program itself, and the
other would be sued to store the generated data.
[PS-My apologies if you're a computer old-timer and already knew this.]
Have you checked the Toshiba support pages---maybe this is expected behavior?
