So are you saying that it's "System Restore" that uses all the resources on my system
for several minutes at a time, each day? I'm having this problem where my hard drive
light is on steadily for several minutes, and the computer bogs down to a crawl.
I'm running 1.8 GHz AMD with approx 1 gig of ram. There is no internet, or network
activity when this is going on. It's just inside the box. So, if I turn off System
Restore, this will cease? Microsoft doesn't even address this in their knowledge
base, as far as I can see. Not surprising. Actually, if I were sure of what it
was, I would feel better. I'm always concerned that it's some sort of "bot", or
worm, or something.
