Hello, I'm new here so I hope I'm doing this correctly. I have Windows XP Home and ever since I purchased my pc just over a year ago I have had this recurring problem. The settings I choose are: to have the status bar unchecked (not showing) to show icons view in the control panel and I set my wave sound slide bar mid way. Every so often, no pattern to this, I boot up and there is no sound (the wave bar is at the bottom so no sound comes through my speakers) and/or the status bar is checked to show and/or the control panel shows in list view. Sometimes it happens to all three at the same time and sometimes it just one of them or two of them. As I said no pattern at all to this behavior. Does anyone know why this happens? No one else has access to my computer. Thanks for any help you can provide.
