I had a heck of a time finding this fix, but it worked for me. Im on Bellsouth Ifidl
DSL, I believe this will work on any hiSpeed sys. that uses a NIC Card(Network Card)
Im using Win98SE/IE6.0

Go to Control Panel then to Network then in Network find your network card it will
be listed like TCP/IP then
your NIC Card name ( 3com,Dlink,LinkSys etc.) make sure you are at TCP/IP NIC Card
name, not TCP/IP Dialup adapter.......Now Highlight TCP/IP(your nic card)
In the Properties go to IP address IF it is EMPTY, type in
192.168.56.8 in the IP Address space...in Subnet Mask put in: 255.255.255.0
That cured my IE 6 hanging problem. I had tried virtually everything else. If this
doesnt work for you remove the IP and Subnet Mask numbers. And keep looking.
