I have a question about Top reasons for random, fatal crashes in Windows XP and Windows 2000:

I have tried all of the possible causes listed but without any luck. Also, when using Internet Explorer 6 with all the updates installed, I have had the system turn off completely when I have pressed the red cross alongside the minimum, maximise button on the top right hand corner. Any thoughts on this or what else might be the cause of my shutting down problem. many thanks
