Thanks for replying. Yes. I was referring to the red cross to close down the browser. Unfortunately this is not always the case. It happens without notice and it could be just as I am typing this message. Sometimes with no message, sometimes with a blue screen. One I have had recently was: IdeChnDr.sys Adddress F84a62D7 Base at F849D000 date stamp 3cb4d2c0 Another was page fault in non paged area. I have a new system running: Pentium 4 2.4 motherboard is Asus P4G8X deluxe. 512mb ram, in the processing of doubling. Heat: 38 degrees in the aussie hot summer. have a fan near the tower letting in extra cool air. Have updated the bios from asus. Have checked the system using adaware spybot pest patrol antivirus. Have read about walk about phones running on 2.4 the same as the motherboard so have relocated that. I am running windows xp home edition with all updates supplied by microsoft installed. Happens whether or not applications are running. House supply is good, 3 phase. tower fan is 400w. Hope this helps.
