The Outlook scenario is a separate issue entirely JP, and would have nothing to do
with the fact that you cannot open .CAB files, or not, as the case maybe.

However, are these files corrupt? What is the specific program? what is Office 0*.
Do you mean Office 2* or EXAMPLE 00234.CAB? Are there any error messages? Did Winrar
work? How about Winzip?

Officially, .CAB files are Microsoft installation archives.

Try this: -

On Windows XP: Start | Run | type in msconfig.exe and click OK. On the general tab click the Expand File tab. Fill in the necessary data. If your CAB file extension association has been disabled, see the Associated Links for a possible fix. Or: - Not compatible with Microsoft .CAB files. The files are usually called DATA1.CAB or DISK1.CAB. There are utilities available to decompress them and extract their contents (I5COMP and I6COMP [search on these terms to find copies]). As per: - http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=cab
