Depends on whether you want to nuke the spy/mal ware once it has arrived (updated
SpyBot S&D and AdAware are complimentary and Hijack This, CWShredder used for the
stubborn ones) or try and stop it arriving in the first place (aside from common
sense, updated AV and Firewall there is Spyware Guard, Google popup blocker etc)
It's a matter of preference and depends where you surf (personally AdAware/Spybot
have only once reported anything - the first time I ran it and that was just Alexa
- nothing in the 3 years since and I don't bother with a popup blocker).
