I have an ASUS motherboard with 2 Gforce cards, GForce4 and GForce2, and the PixelView
Play TV Pro capture card. The WDM drivers for the GForce4 works with the latest drivers,
but the WDM for the Gforce2 doesnt work, which makes the capture card not work.
I have found a great solution for this problem since I wasted more than 2 days, 20+
hours trying to get the nvidia WDM drivers to work.
There's more than 1 way you can watch TV.
1. Use the NVidia WDM Video Capture drivers (doesnt work)
2. Use Conexant Video Capture drivers
When trying to use the NVidia drivers, it crashes the computer, because the WDM
drivers will not start, so, I found two 3rd party programs to fix this using option
2, the Conexant drivers.
1. 3rd party drivers for a Bt8xx based video capture card (which includes most
video capture cards such as the PixelView Play TV Pro), you can find the drivers
at their homepage here:
http://btwincap.sourceforge.net
2. 3rd party software to watch TV, ChrisTV. It's not free, but you can try it
for 30 days or buy it. I found the latest version, 3.55. Find it here:
http://www.chris-tv.com
Here are the step to get your video capture card to work properly:
1. Install the latest NVidia drivers. I installed 53.03 for XP
2. Install the 3rd party WDM drivers (btInstaller.exe)
3. Install ChrisTV
4. In the start menu, go to to ChrisTV folder and choose "ChrisTV Quick Configuration
Panel"
5.Change the "Video Capture" source to "Conexant's BtPCI Capture"
6. Uncheck "Use Overlay Mixer Filter" or else ChrisTV will freeze when you start
it
7. Run ChrisTV and WATCH TV!!!!!!
