I agree with jack the mack....Google toolbar is fantastic. Very rarely does a pop-up
ever sneak through. And it is a fine search engine, as well as a great dictionary
and spell-checker, too. Just type in a word that you are not sure of the spelling
or definition, and it will give you an answer every time!
And if you are
into saving bookmarks, Yahoo toolbar is great for that. Has a built-in bookmark
button that saves up to 1000 category folders and bookmarks combined. Duh, my viewing
window is shrinking, thanks to those toolbars, but they are great, no joke.
As
for the messemger service, the only way I was able to eradicte the bothersome pop-ups
was with this file. Go to "start" button and drop these commands in the "run" window.
Should take care of your problem permanently. Please remove the quotes prior to
running the command. "RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.remove"
