In cleaning up my computer, I recently discovered a virus known as the Win32.Randex virus. I searched for it on Symantec's database, and they gave several different variants (Randex.Q, Randex.A, etc), however, Norton Antivirus 2002 on my computer did not indicate that it was any of those particular variants, only Win32.Randex. Anyway, it did detect it as a virus, but I was unable to quarantine it and it gave me the option of deleting the file that is infected (winregservices.exe). However, I am unsure of the use of this particular file, if it is vital to running Windows XP or something within it, so I'm afraid of deleting the file. If anybody could answer whether this file is important or not, in particular if I should delete it, I would appreciate it. Thank you.
