I've had the same 'Cannot file [cab file]' on installations recently too even though
the file is on the disk. First is was on Silent Hill 3 which was on a DVD-ROM on
my desktop PC. At the time I put it to the install pack on the game.
I recently purchased a laptop and tried installing a Bluetooth network, the install
CD-ROM worked find on the laptop DVD drive but I got the same 'Cannot find [cab file]
on the desktop DVD drive. As it worked on the laptop (OS XP Home) and 4 other PC's
at work (3 Win98 and 1 Win2k Server) then I could discount the CD-ROM itself.
I tried installing the drivers on the Desktop machine again (XP-Pro) this time from
the CD-RW drive and got the same 'Cannot find [cab file]' again....Discounting the
DVD drive as the problem.
So it's either something I've installed or setting I've changed on the destop PC
is my opinion (but what is a mystry). I have got PowerArchiver installed and is assosiated
to CAB files which might be a possible cause?
