How do I unformat WINDOWS XP NTFS partition? Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 7:36 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by MK (1 messages posted) I accidently ran the system restore disk on my notebook and my XP partition has been partially quickformated. I found utilities to undelete files. However, none unformats the HDD ie restore it to the preformat state with dirs, files etc intact. I can undelete files, but it means reinstalling XP.
