I hate this icon because there's no option to remove it! So let's get started... Open regedit by clicking Start -> run... and typing "regedit" in the box. Push enter. Now, find and delete this key -> [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{6af09ec9-b429-11d4-a1fb-0090960218cb}] Close regedit... Push F5 to refresh your desktop. "My Bluetooth Places" has turned into a folder. Can you delete folders? Of course you can! So what are you waiting for? Delete the folder. But you aren't done yet. "Explore My Bluetooth Places" in the tray wont work!
