You are a Genius SAV!!! So simple! So easy! I never even Dreamed that Norton Antivirus
2003 was the cause...This problem has bugged me for a YEAR!!! I used to use the
other work-arounds mentioned on this site...Note by the way that only certain versions
of messenger will cause this problem. IT starts happening if I have norton and then
I AUTO-UPDATE my clean install of windows xp (without service pack 1) which automatically
changes version of messenger to 4.6 or 4.7....free at last...free at last..... I
