I got this devil via a clever, full-sized browser window with all blue background,
claiming that my anti-virus software found a new virus and offer it to remove it.
A reminder to all of us how social engineering might creep into OK buttons.. I was
not paying attention to the fact that my anti-virus software has DIFFERENT dialog
box warning of viris.
The 'free software' people behind the http://www.n-case.com/ncaseuninstall.html project
should also be aware of the basic fact that free software do not install trojans
on computers, just as guns don't kill people: we people do. Free software is the
most vulnerable to inventive maggots who don't care how they make their daily bread.
I learned yet another lesson about being very careful about clikcing OK buttons.
You should be too, because in my case I have no legal case. I was a dummy not thinking
before clicking and thus 'signing' a legal contract.
In any case this got a better sence in me to renew my anti-virus software subscription,
and upgrade it to a complete internet protection solution. I am an avid supporter
of free software, yet I don't mind paying for service or software when there is a
need with EFFECTIVE solution. Think and feel any way you please about this, but know
that this devil is still on my comp but I never received another pop-up again.
Which means that I've got my money's worth. Thanks.
