I finally figured out how to make my CD autoplay in Windows Media Player!
Start>All Programs>Set Program Access and Defaults>Custom>Expand.. and third
choice down is Windows Media Player. Place the "dot" in Windows Media Player and
close the window.
Now, pop in a CD in your drive and Windows Media Player should autoplay the CD
or the window which gives you choices should appear. Select Windows Media Player
and check the box below which says "Always do the Selected Action" and close
this window. Now, when I insert a music CD, Windows Media Player starts up and
plays it without any action on my part, just as it did before!
Of course I initially made the Registry changes which were suggested here in this
thread in another posting. These changes gave me the autoplay selections window but
Winbdows Media Player was NOT on the list. The above change placed Windows Media
Player ON the list so that I was able to select it. All is well in computer land
now!
