On old HD suddenly I could not connect. "Cannot find server; Dns error IE. After 3 days of trying to fix, I purchased new HD. Installed new HD, connected no problem, got updates, rebooted, same error. Called my ISP, they tested the cable modem, no problems. Still no connection. I found a few fixes at Microsoft, still no go. I unplugged my router, modem an unistalled my adapter. On reboot I connected. Yeah!!!! On reboot after that, same error. Here are my findings of things I think are wrong and need to know if they are, pretty please with sugar on top :). You can go ahead and laugh at me if my ?? are silly, just keep in mind I am newbie ;). Ipconfig shows "Node Unknown" LMHOSTS file can't be found. Device manager, by connection, showing hidden devices shows my adapter connected to Intel PCI Bridge, and not my ethernet controller.
