You haven't said what happens (or not) when you try to boot with your WXP CD, but
I am wondering if your BIOS is set to recognize your CD drive as the first bootable
device. Consult your computer materials about that BIOS setting and how to set it.
You get into your BIOS settings by pressing, or repeatedly pressing, a keyboard
key - usually "delete" - as the computer boots up until the BIOS setup or settings
screen comes up.
