Once this problem is cleared the computer runs as good as new again - hold off on
the reinstall!!. Some spyware tries to kill off ad removal programs - try a program
called coolwebsearch smart killer by peppi - this stops the background processes
and allows Adaware and spybot to run. I have also had some problems with Adaware
not finding updates and sticking on 2003 definitions - I have had to manually download
new definitions and save them to the Adaware folder (search www.shareware.com for
Adaware, and save the definitions file to C:\Program...\Lavasoft\Adaware). After
this the updating works fine.
