I had this problem as well, seems M$ really does'nt want you to network various versions
of 9x to XP pro or 2000 , I installed all 3 network protocols on the 9x machines
(95 & 98) and used netbeui and TCP/IP on win 2000 , IPX/SPX and TCP/IP on XP pro
and guess what they now all can see each other and communicate don't ask me why as
everyone else Ive talked to says you only need one protocol but I could not get it
to work on just the one no matter what I did!P.S. I did install NETBEUI on the XP
machine and it would not see the 9x ones unless ypu install IPX/SPX.
