I've had a continual problem with sporadic not shutting down, forcing me to do it
manually. I used Spybot Search & destroy freeware which helped. Then bought & downloaded
PestPatrol. The latter listed Microsoft/Windows containing a couple of items in
my registry that were spying. I deleted those with PestPatrol. And have had no
problem shutting down since.
