If you can get into Windows in safe mode (I managed by using CTL-ALT-DEL at the login
screen and logging on as administrator) then you need to clean out all the spyware.
Start by going to the control panel add/remove programs and remove anything you havent
knowingly installed (eg enhanced media, save/savenow, GAIN/Gator, ALL toolbars, precision
time...), then use a good cleaner such as adaware or spybot to remove the remainder
(make sure you update them first if you can). I havent tried this but if you go to
start -> run -> and type in "msconfig" enter and go to the startup tab. turn off
everything in here temporarily and it should stop a good deal of spyware from starting
at the next boot. Go back and turn it all on again when the system is clean (you
may get error messages about the spyware it can no longer load afterwards and have
to go back to msconfig and turn these ones off again).
Once the system is clear of spyware your system will run well again.
