I have a program called Perfect Scrapbook maker at work (a software company). It
attempts to install everytime I open it. I must 'cancel' the installation at least
10 times before the program runs. This is in Windows 2KPro.
I have also had the problem with MS Office on an XP box at home. It tries to install
at very random times. What could be causing this? With user profiles in mind, I was
logged in my account in both cases, but did not install the programs, another user
did. I am not an 'Administrator' at work but I have no restrictions on the programs
I install, or any kind of limitations on my account.
There are a couple other programs however, that I did install logged in on my account
at work, that gave the same problem.
What exactly is the User Profile & Windows Installer relationship? Where do they
tie together in the registry?
Thanks for the help, I knew I wasnt alone.
