My problem is similar. (System was OK when my Dell Dimension 4400 was new, but appeared
months later.) Also, if I try to go to Standby from the Start Menu, it usually takes
several attempts. My Control Panel shows no "APM" tab. I tried the USB Root Hub
fix suggested by others, but no luck. Looking for suggestions
