If you cant get access by logging in, then the only option you have is to mount the
hard drive in someone elses PC and run a spyware removal tool against your harddrive.
An alternative method which I tried recently (I have come across this problem 3 times
now in customer PCs) is to create a bootable CD. I used one called Bart PE which
was excellent, with the adaware scanner installed. Unfortunately you will need access
to a functional PC to set this up in the first place.
You do need to reactivate Windows, but you can make a free call to Microsoft and
talk to a rep to get a new code to activate it.
* Repairing Windows doesnt work for this problem.
* Reinstalling Windows clean works, but you lose all your previous setup and any
files on the desktop as a minimum. If you have the resources to do it you can rename
the Windows folder, Docs and Settings, and Program Files, then you can reinstall
(leaving file system intact when asked) and you will at least save all your data
and emails etc..
