Installshield was blocked when calling a method for setting a restore point. Anyway, system restore itself was having some troubles. My workaround was: - purchasing of an external USB 2.0 harddrive - regular backups using Symantec tools (DriveImage) - disabling of XP's own system restore Moreover, I have the impression that my PC is now going faster.
