Followed all the instructions on fixing the registry Explorer and CD Rom, using GPedit.msc,
Autofix and Tweak UI. I then realized that an application was suppressing Autoplay.
Uninstalled Norton SystemWorks 2004 and voila, it worked. Now DVDs and CDs autoplay
and autorun work.
Hope this solution helps out.
