SP2 is turning out to be quite a problematic update. Anyhow try this:
Boot your computer off of your Windows XP cd. Go into the repair option. When you
get to the command prompt type C:\chkdsk /r
This will run the Checkdisk Repair Utility. Finish it out then reboot. I have
heard this will fix the problem.
