The only way I could get WMP 10.0 beta removed was to use RegSeeker (http://www.webattack.com/get/regseeker.shtml).
From the main menu of RegSeeker select "Installed applications". Scroll down to
"Windows Media Player 10" and select delete. This WILL remove it. If you then want
to install version 9.0, go for it.
It WORKS!
