I've now got this same problem. Just got a new Gamepad and reallised XP had ignored
my game port on my... you guessed it, Yamaha 754 XG card. An updated driver later
and no sound, no devices, no fun, no gamepad.
I've read the whole thread and tried everything but nout has worked.
XP Home edition SP2
Dell 4600 2.8 P4
