Here's how I stopped msmsgs.exe:
First of all, I went into the Task Manager and ended the msmsgs.exe process. Then
I quickly opened Norton Antivirus "Quarantine Report", and selected "Add Item". I
then went to the path: c:\program files\messenger\msmsgs.exe and selected msmsgs.exe
to be quarantined.
Now Norton Antivirus won't let the program run because it thinks it's a virus.
