For McAfee 8, make the following change in your registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"MCAgentExe"="c:\\PROGRA~1\\mcafee.com\\agent\\mcagent.exe /nosplash
(adding the /nosplash parameter to the mcafee agent executable)
