I have a question about How do I uninstall Windows?:

I'm not sure, but I may have installed it a number of times too. I had serious hard-drive problems so I decided to do a full recovery. This didn't resolve the prob so i tried again. This worked but reduced my Hard Drive space by about 40 Gigs. I have searched all hidden files and can't find anything out of the ordinary, I've changed the amount of space recovery uses etc, so all I can think off is that each time recovery went about it's business it re-installed windows on top of the last install. Perhaps I'm wrong, if so can anyone advise as to how to resolve the dramatic loss of HD space ? I don't wanna reformat as Xp came pre-installed thus I didn't get a disc
