I have a question about How do I make the background of desktop icon text transparent?:

Go to Start Menu --> Run --> regedit.exe

(be careful when using this, if you mess up with it you may need to re-install your Windows, please make a beackup of the registry information before continuing)

. Go to the falowing key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced] Find: "ListviewShadow", change it to 1 (double-click it and change), close regedit Log-Off Windows and Log-On again or reboot it. Simple as that.

OBS: It should work for Win 9x/ME/2000 also.
