Thank goodness for this thread. I was ready to fork out bucks for a PCI sound card
that probably wouldn't have fixed the problem anyway!!
I think my swenum.inf and swenum.sys problems were possibly caused by a power outage/power
surge. Although I also had just recently installed a new PCI tv tuner card as well
that could have contributed. Thought I'd mention that just in case others are trying
to diagnose.
Follow the 'install new hardware' instructions on this thread and you'll be hearing
sound in no time.
