There are some ways to change the start button. You can mess with system files but that is dangerous. I downloaded a program that changed everything. I loved it. But then my computer had nonstop system errors. I kept having problems until I reinstalled XP. So don't bother trying to safely change the color. ITS DANGEROUS. Just use the classic start menu button.
