I run Norton with no trouble at all, whether you resubscribe is up to you there are
many options
As for your question on what protections you need:
The only one you can dump is the spam filter, the rest are 100% mandatory nowadays
They all do different jobs and you need all of them
The level of spyware protection you need depends largely on your surfing habits,
but you do need a spyware killer
