1. Open up the registry editor
2. Highlight My Computer and select File - Export (this will backup all your registry
settings)
3. Highlight HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jar and right-click on it to export it to a file
called oldjar.reg
4. Delete HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jar
5. Highlight HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.zip and right-click on it to export it to a file
called newjar.reg
6. Edit newjar.reg with a text editor like notepad
7. In the file, replace .zip with .jar
8. Save the file
9. Double-click on newjar.reg to import the new key into your registry
10. Reboot and enjoy!

You might want to keep oldjar.reg around if you ever need to revert to the older
.jar behavior (unlikely).

Good luck!
