I just purchased a new external USB sound card for my laptop, and the issue remains.
The device is enabled and working with it's own drivers, but windows does not see
an audio device.
Again, under sounds and audio devices, hardware tab, if i go to properties of the
USB sound card, the device itself plus the midi devices and mixers all give the "driver
is enabled but not started" error.
This is true of both my internal sound and the USB external sound.
How can I believe it's the drivers for the sound card? It must be a windows XP problem
of some sort which none of the above fixes has resolved.
