The problem usually resides in your chipset driver. It doesn't matter if you have
an nforce or via chipset, if you're not using the latest drivers, the problem can
occur in any game. I had the same problem for Half Life 2 but I updated my nforce
drivers to 5.10 and no problems now. I updated my video card's drivers before (nvidia
fx 5950ultra) and it did nothing beneficial.
