I have what I think is the same problem, that is, on my Dell Dimension 2400 running Win XP home edition, I Tried to run a game one day and an error occured, thinking nothing of it I didn't even take much note of what it said, and forgot quickly. I rebooted the system and my Sony CD-RW CRX216E had disappeared from 'My Computer' I went to the device manager and it had a yellow exclamation mark. When I tried to re-install it I got the "Windows cannot start this device........(Code 19) I tried merging that cd.reg file after pasting the line into notepad but no change has occured. I am sorry to be a bother, and am afraid it is probably just that my inaptitude with computers has led me to do something wrong, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, I forgot to mention, just before this happened (a day or 2), I set p a network with my Brother's Laptop to play games, I don't know if that is related in any way. Thankyou to anyone who is able to help me.
