One of these instances of XP can be removed by editing the boot.ini file. The easiest way it to go to Control Panel>Advanced>Start Up and Recovery>Settings>System Startup>Edit. This will open the file in notepad and you will notice under Operating Systems there are 2 partitions showing. The first installation should be partition 1 so simply take out the line for partition 2 and save. run msconfig to check this has amemnded the boot file and make sure that the default is set as partition 1. hope this helps. ps. it is a good idea to backup the boot.ini file before editing, just simply save a copy on the desktop just incase.
