I would really just like to thank the people who provided the answer to this cdrom missing problem and to the host of this forum. Finally after many restores to "go back in time" only to have the problem occur again, after hours of web searching the deleting of my Lowerfilters in all the Controlset folders restored all my drives without their bs conflict. And yes, tisk tisk on Microsoft for not noticing such a wide spread problem and posting a simple post for it. By the way, I think it may have started happening to me after a Windows Update, I was not impressed. Once again, thank you.
