I have the same problem. Win 98SE (client) connected to WinXP (host) using dial up
to internet with crossover cable attached to both PC's. I ran the ICS software from
XP onto 98, it worked intermittently, shares work intermittently, can only get either
or working, not both at same time. The TCP/IP config on Win98 also goes missing
(resets to "automatically assign IP address) which has a D-Link NIC. It would probably
work if the TCP/IP stayed but how can I get it to do this? Can anyone help? Would
releasing and/or renewing the IP address help, if so how many times does it have
to be done.
