Nah, I knew you used a PC. Its an XP forum, lol. But normally removable disks are used for data transfer, and that can often involve a Mac. I once toasted a ZIP disk using one.

If you hit a dead end with recovery tools, or just don't want to bother with them, try copying one file at a time. Usually its only a few files that are corrupted, but that can keep you from getting an entire folder when you try to do everything at once.
