Thanks for the reply and the well wishes. Seems I'm up that creek in need of a paddle.
I did finally install SP2 hoping to make the problem go away. Well, the problem is
still there and now, upon starting up, I get the following error: "Your SQL Server
Installation is either corrupt of has been tampered with (Could not open SQLEVN70.RLL).
Please uninstall then re-run setup to correct this problem."
I never installed SQL Server. I do know that MS has a SQL engine, but I never had
any problem with it. A few people suggested going back to a System restore point,
which I did. That's when this error started to show up. And even with installing
SP2 again, my original problem is still here and this sql error has joined the fair.
Not sure what to do next...
