I have a laptop that wont connect to internet from cable modem but will connect to network at work with no problem. Im have tried everything imaginable but it wont grab a ip address from cable modem. All local area connections are enabled. I power down modem and laptop. Power up modem and wait 5 minutes. Then power on laptop and get a 169 ip address. There is a green light on the nic. Any suggestoins wold be greatly appreciated.
